Jessica & Garth’s Wedding | Campus View Church of Christ & Taylor Grady House in Athens, GA | August 7, 2010

Round two for my jammed packed weekend of wedding fun!  Saturday’s wedding had me at one of my favorite towns in the south, Athens!  I shoot a bunch of weddings in Athens, and love every minute of it :)  Jessica and Garth held a beautiful church wedding and then had a PARTAAAYY at one of my favorite houses, the Taylor Grady House.  They also used some of my favorite Athens vendors!  The fabulous Natalie Bradley was the planner, Gardenia Floral made everything look beautiful, and Annie’s video memories helped film the day!  Below are some of my favorite shots, but as always, be sure to see the SLIDESHOW for some more action!

Gardenia's work is always beautiful.

Jessica made her jewelry

August heat makes the rings a little harder to put on...

I love a black and white checkered dance floor!

Had to take advantage of blue sky time for a second...

LIMBO!The Dickens kept the party going on all night long.  One of the best wedding bands I’ve seen…

Jessica & Garth did their fair share of partying...

It was this hot outside...

Garth got onstage and helped the band show how it's done...

We're not worthy!

This wedding was SO MUCH FUN!  Can you feel it?  Many congrats to you guys!  I hope you party on through your life together as husband and wife!  Big thanks to my buddy Curtis for helping out!  Now onto the third wedding for my August weekend of fun!

Tara & Sean’s Wedding | August 6, 2010 | Flint Hill in Norcross, Georgia

Tara and Sean started off the craziest wedding weekend of my career!  The first weekend of August I had not one, not two, but THREE weddings.  One Friday, one Saturday, one Sunday.  I had never done this before, but it honestly was a super fun weekend!  I am blessed with such amazing clients that I am so excited to be a part of their big day!

Tara and I kind of go a way back actually.  My cousin Laura is one of her friends.  Laura’s wedding was my very first wedding I ever shot!  Tara was a part of the bridal party at Laura’s wedding, and Laura is in Tara’s!  Laura and Nick got married September 30 of 2006.  I can’t believe so much time has gone by since then.

Tara kicked off my wedding weekend with a Friday night wedding at Flint Hill in Norcross, Georgia.  It rained as we were all arriving, but let up in just enough time for us to take some photos and have the ceremony!  Perfection :)  Below are some of my favorites, but be sure to look at their SLIDESHOW for some more action!

I can almost feel the rain that is approaching...

Sean cleans up pretty nice ;)

so does Tara :)

Tara actually wore her grandmother's dress that she made a little more up to date. I love it!

Just breathe!

My first wedding couple, Laura & Nick Short :)

Just for fun, a quick pic from Laura & Nick's wedding back on 9/20/06

Kelli & Ashton. I also shot their engagement pics!

Tara cracks me up with her expressions!

Tara & Sean, I’m so happy for you guys!  I wish you much happiness on your journey through life together :)  Many thanks to Brian and Meg for helping out!

Some more fun in August | Little Gardens & The Decatur Courthouse

Wow.  This August has been SUPER busy, but super fun!  I have had five weddings this August, and have this Saturday off!  Glad to have some time to catch up on editing all these fantastic weddings :)  I wanted to quickly share a few from my last two before I start on the next full edit!

Stacie & Jeff hosted a beautiful outdoor wedding at Little Gardens in Lawrenceville.  Such a sweet adorable couple.  You can just really feel that they fit together!

I just love the colors of the sky here. Reminds me of cotton candy for some reason.

Folks, don't be scarred to start your ceremony at 7:30 in the summer. The end results are beautiful light for the ceremony, and DRAMATIC photos of you!

A celebratory cigar

Next up is Amy & Matt’s wedding at the Old Decatur Courthouse.  I love working at the Courthouse.  Such an amazing historic place to get married!

Aren't they cute???!!!

Ok!  Now back to editing!  Enjoy and keep checking back for more!

Amanda & Craig’s Wedding | St. Marks United Methodist & Fox Theatre | July 31, 2010

I have known Amanda & Craig for a few years.  Amanda is another friend of mine that was in a small group bible study a few years ago.  I was so excited when they got engaged, but when we met to chat about the wedding details, she told me they were getting married on a date I was already booked!  All three of us were totally bummed, thought some things over, and they moved the date up a week so I could be there.  Yay!  So glad they did!  I would have been completely sad to not be there for my friend’s big day, AND when she told me the reception was at the Fox Theatre (which those of you who know me well, know this is my all time favorite spot to be.  PERIOD.) I was even more happy that it all worked out to be on July 31st.  Below are some of my favorite shots of the day, but for a complete snapshot check out their SLIDESHOW.

The Happy Couple :)

The fellas...

A quick hand squeeze before the ceremony

Love the doors on St. Marks!

Let's party at the Fox!

I love this image. Had this in my head even before I walked in the ballroom...

Natalie & Kevin are getting married next! Can't wait for September 5th!

Phi Mu Hell yeah!

We got the OK to have a few moments inside the theater!!!! A dream of mine come true :)

The chairs that they are sitting on are really from Egypt. Thousands of years old.... We were told to sit very carefully!

The carriage ride was a surprise from Craig's family :)

I love this. I can just feel Craig thinking "she's mine!"

I rode on the carriage for just a few to capture some moments like this...

LOVE.

Amanda & Craig, I hope you had an AMAZING honeymoon, and I know that you will have a super happy life together!  You guys are an amazing couple and I’m just so happy I was able to be there to help commemorate the day!  Many thanks to the fabulous Brian Steele for helping out!

Chris & Diane’s Engagement Session | Atlanta Botanical Gardens | August 12, 2010

Two blog posts in one day!  I’ll call that productive!  Diane, Chris, Meg, and I had a blast taking engagement photos at an evening at the Botanical Gardens.  The gardens stay open late one night a week in the summer, so we took full advantage of that, dodge the daytime heat, and got spectacular nighttime photos!  Below are a few of my favorites, but be sure to see the SLIDESHOW for more fun!

You only get this beautiful light at dusk.

I love this. You would never know that we were at the Botanical Gardens in Atlanta...

The green house is pretty sexy at night!

Got back outside just in time for blue sky time :)

This just makes me laugh

A little romance in front of the fountain

The water reminds me of glitter.

Diane and Chris, I am SO excited about your wedding at the Aquarium in September!  I really enjoyed working with you guys on these, and can’t wait for some more fun very soon!

More than weddings? | August 2010 | Atlanta

People ask me all the time “do you do anything besides weddings?” I of course say yes!  I LOVE weddings.  They are where 95% of my jobs are, but it’s fun to do other sessions here and there.  Well, this post is about some of that other 5% of here and there :)

If you have gotten married sometime this year, chances are you have met Meg.  She has helped me out with lighting over the past few months at my weddings.  She is graduating high school coming up fast this year, and we had some fun doing a senior session for her in my new neighborhood of the East Atlanta Village :)  It actually made for a fantastic backdrop to shoot!  Think I’ll do an e-session here soon!

I think this is my favorite from our session. Shot on my new red leather couch in my living room! All natural light from the window.

She has been dating her guy Jeremiah for a while, so I said why not bring him in for some fun too?

This sequence is very them :)

And yes, my kitchen really is that green :)

We didn't have to go far into the EAV to find a nice graffiti wall to use.

LOVE

I love this one. I roughed up her hair for it too :)

I love this one too. Her expression is perfect, and the toning is kind of Twilight reminiscent.

My street :)

You may remember Jaime Luckey from a recent post about a launch party for her online magazine called Date Night Mag. Jaime needed a few updated head shots (as do I, I am no longer blonde fyi) so we went out to lunch and headed to Piedmont for a minute to get a few cool pics :)

moody, but I love it. I saw this spot as soon as we walked into lunch

Isn’t she just a cutie?  Always fun to hang with Jaime!

And just for fun, I’ve been dog sitting a good bit here lately while a friend is undergoing some construction on her house.  This is Libby’s friend Mango who visits often :)

Pets are people too :)

Sweetest Pomeranian you'll ever meet!

So yes, I do more than weddings ;)  There are 6 other days in the week I can take pics!  Give me a ring and we’ll set something up!

Veronica & Marcus’s Wedding | Twelve Centennial Park | July 3, 2010

Veronica & Marcus have been SO much fun to get to know over their engagement.  Of course, all of my clients are fabulous, but Mrs. Veronica and I have really connected over the past few months.  It’s always fun when I feel like a friend at the weddings :)  Their wedding was on my birthday, but I could not have picked a better couple who threw a more kicking party to celebrate with!  Veronica did an amazing job with planning out all the little details of her wedding.  Probably one of the most streamlined decorated events I have seen in quite some time.  Everything just flowed perfectly!  She also hired the fabulous Susan Graham to make sure that all her little details were taken care of and that the day went smoothly.  It truly was a magical day!  Please excuse the larger than normal post below.  There are just too  many favorites to tell their story!  But check out even MORE on their SLIDESHOW.

They even remembered to give me a card on my birthday! How sweet is it to remember me on YOUR wedding day? Love these guys!

Veronica’s glamourous makeup was crafted by Latasha Wright. She did an awesome job making Mrs. V look super fierce!

I love this of Veronica and her girls

Marcus was looking pretty awesome himself!

Such a cool moment in the ceremony...

This needs to be framed somewhere

Veronica’s beautiful Kenneth Poole gown is from the fabulous Bridals by Lori store that you may have seen on Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta :)

I love this image. Something kind of nostalgic about it.

I envy V's pink Kate Spades

Peachy Treats made some of the best tasting, and best looking desserts I have ever had.  The cupcakes were to DIE for.

Time to party out on the dance floor!

DJ Triple M kept the beats going for us all night long.

funiest. bouquet. toss. ever.

this girl nearly took V out!

Marcus and his boys getting down!

Quick wardrobe change for a few pics in the lobby

Dad and mom were keeping the party alive too!

Veronica and Marcus, THANK YOU for choosing me to capture these special moments on your wedding day!  I honestly could not have had a better birthday.  It was a blast to be a part of your day, and make some new friends :)  I wish you all the best life has to offer and can’t wait to see you both soon!  Thanks to my fabulous team of Brian Steele and Meg Pirtle for helping out on their day.

Late July early August fun

Wow.  I have been SO blessed with such amazing clients this summer!  I have a bunch of fabulous weddings over the past few weeks that I wanted to share a few quick images.  Full details and stories about the couples to come :)

First up is Craig & Amanda McKinney who got married July 31 at St. Marks and held their reception at the FABULOUS Fox Theatre :)

The windows at the church are to die for

This is an image I have been wanting to capture for a LONG time...

Next up is Tara & Sean who got married on August 6 at Flint Hill in Norcross

Rock on!

And we wrap up the fun in this post with Julian and Khalilah who got married August 8th at Chateau Elan.  Such a cute couple :)

Zahra & Anthony’s Wedding | Le Bam | July 2, 2010

If you are having a small wedding, do yourself a favor and check out Le Bam This venue is truly one of a kind!  It was the perfect setting for Zahra and Anthony’s daytime wedding :)  This wedding had a first for me.  We experienced a power outage during preparation!  I would have been freaking out if this were my big day, but Zahra held it together perfectly.  Even had a smile on her face :)  Luckily the power was just off for about an hour, and then everything else went on without a hitch!  Below are a few of my favorites from the day, but be sure to check out the SLIDESHOW for some more fun!

Beautiful cakes from www.onceuponacake.net

I know this photo is a bit dark, but that's the whole point. All of the power in Midtown went OUT for an hour during our getting ready process! Zahra was a trooper and rolled with the punches, and even had a smile on her face!

More backstory, Zahra was on crutches for her wedding! Poor thing had an injured foot. Once again, kept on smiling and was carried down the aisle. Love it!

my favorite from the ceremony

Woohoo! We're married!

So Anthony seems to be a very serious guy... BUT when he gets around Zahra he just lights up with this fantastic smile! I love this of the two of them.

A quit kiss in my favorite "moon room"See what I mean about this venue? Totally unique!Zahra and Anthony, I wish you many many years of married bliss :)  Thanks for hiring me sight unseen!  It was great to meet you and celebrate your wedding day! Big thanks to Brian and Meg for helping me out!

Laura & Chris’s Wedding | The Peachtree Club, Atlanta | June 26, 2010

This was a SUPER fun wedding for me to be a part of!  I actually went to elementary school with Chris!  I love how the world of Facebook reconnects us with past friends :)  It was awesome to be a part of someone’s wedding who I have known that long, and get to see a bunch of people I went to high school with!  Go Knights!  LOL :)

Chris and Laura got married at the fabulous skyline terrace of The Peachtree Club in the heart of Midtown Atlanta.  The terrace is the HIGHEST outdoor venue in the southeast!  28 floors up!  Below are some of my favorites, but be sure to check out the SLIDESHOW for more fun!

The view from the terrace

classic!

I love this, thinking of entering into wpja...

Woohoo! Time to get married!

Can you believe this spot?

This couple should be in magazines!

I don't think Laura can be any prettier!

Our night time view

Thanks guys for having me out to party with you all!  It was so much fun to see familiar faces and party it up on the roof!  You guys were awesome!  Thanks to Brian and Meg for their help!
