]]> http://www.melissaprosser.com/blog/wpja-contest-results-we-won/feed/ 1 AGWPJA RESULTS | WE WON! http://www.melissaprosser.com/blog/agwpja-results-we-won/ http://www.melissaprosser.com/blog/agwpja-results-we-won/#comments Sat, 05 Mar 2011 04:11:53 +0000 mprosser http://www.melissaprosser.com/blog/?p=3719 If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you probably already know, but we placed 9th in the ceremony category of The artistic guild of the wedding photojournalist association (AGPWJA)‘s quarterly contest!  This is a WORLDWIDE organization of photojournalists, so it is a HUGE honor to be a member, let alone win an award!  This is my third time placing in their contests which is no easy feat.  We have to hand pick which images we want to enter, and figuring out which ones will place is almost a bigger challenge than taking the photo!  Below is a screen shot of the winning image from their website.

And here is the photo a bit bigger to really view.  The couple is Mandy & Craig from last April.
Good way to start a weekend.  First wedding of the year coming up on March 20th!  Can’t wait!  Good night world.

You all probably remember the beautiful wedding of Leslie & Kenny Ellsworth at Ambient Plus Studios last October… Well, today it was featured on the fabulous Occasions Magazine! Go check it out and read their story.  We had such a blast working at their wedding!  Much love to you guys, and enjoy the SUN!

“The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) is a professional organization composed of photojournalists and wedding photographers from around the world. What sets our members apart in the industry is their candid, documentary approach – a distinctly artistic vision toward wedding photography.”

Well, they hold quarterly contests with their members, and with the latest I placed FIRST in the ceremony division!!!  Below is the winning photo:

Also, you may remember the wedding I photographed at Cuscowilla last August?  Carmen and Jonathan Dawson?  Well Cuscowilla puts out a new magazine every year to showcase their venue and vendors that they reccomend.  I got some major love from the fantastic Jaime Murray who is in charge of events and there are quite a few photos of mine in there!  Check it out HERE.
