Melissa Prosser Photography » portrait session http://www.melissaprosser.com/blog Blog Fri, 03 Feb 2012 19:08:37 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.2.1 Working for Gwinnett Church | January 8, 2011 http://www.melissaprosser.com/blog/working-for-gwinnett-church-january-8-2011/ http://www.melissaprosser.com/blog/working-for-gwinnett-church-january-8-2011/#comments Mon, 09 Jan 2012 21:19:40 +0000 mprosser http://www.melissaprosser.com/blog/?p=12112 Last night I did something different.  I volunteered to photograph the happenings at Gwinnett Church!  It was really awesome to see all that goes on in the world of a North Point Ministries Church.  Last night was the first night that Gwinnett Church moved into it’s new temporary home at Cross Pointe Church.  Cross Pointe did an AMAZING thing by opening their doors to Gwinnett Church to host our 6pm Sunday services for the next year.  Talk about an act of stewardship!  The campus is amazing and is a perfect fit for the church.  We almost filled up the room on the first Sunday there!  Big thanks to Cross Pointe!  I can’t wait to see what is in store for my church in the next few years!

]]> http://www.melissaprosser.com/blog/working-for-gwinnett-church-january-8-2011/feed/ 2 All Aboard the Polar Express! http://www.melissaprosser.com/blog/all-aboard-the-polar-express/ http://www.melissaprosser.com/blog/all-aboard-the-polar-express/#comments Tue, 20 Dec 2011 19:58:09 +0000 mprosser http://www.melissaprosser.com/blog/?p=12024 If you go over to my sister’s house, it’s Thomas the train and Polar Express ALL day EVERY day.  Lots of choo choos, chugga chuggas, etc etc.  If you come to my house, same thing!  My fiance Bobby has been collecting trains since he was a little boy and has more train memorabilia and cars then I have ever seen!  Not sure who was more excited, the little ones, or the big ones!  Needless to say, we all had a FANTASTIC time heading up to Bryson City, North Carolina to go ride a real live Polar Express experience!  My parents rented a cabin that was literally on the top of a mountain (my sister was freaked out the entire drive up, and down, no matter how many times we did the trek) and took us on the train ride for our Christmas gift this year.  Thanks so much guys!  We all had an absolute blast.  Let’s do it again!  Here are some highlights from our weekend.

But anyway, some dear friends of mine (you may remember the Johnsons) wanted a “tacky” Christmas card photo, and I HAD to do it!  We went down to Stone Mountain for some Christmas festivities and snatched these few shots.  Who’s game for this idea next year?!?!?!

Kaitlyn enjoyed the horseAnd so did my Bobby!These bees meant business!  I got some honey.  Absolutely delicious! I love the swings.  Of course I rode them too…She did not find Nemo friendly…Me with the fiance Alisha, Preston, and Neil Aubree, Kaitlyn, and MikeOld fashioned ice cream machine.  Most delicious root beer float ever!

Thanks to my handsome fiance for helping out with lighting the shoot!

So I suited up my corporate PWP studio pants, and went to the aquarium!  Betty is such a sweet lady.  It really was an honor to shadow her around the aquarium for a few hours.  At 89, this woman is living life large.  She visited Zoo Atlanta earlier in the day, then came back to the aquarium to visit her friends Beethoven the beluga, and Gracie the sea otter (this was White’s second visit to the aquarium).  She is writing a book on Zoos and Aquariums.  You can just look into her eyes as she pets these animals and see the love she feels for them.  Way to go Betty.  You rock!  Click here to see an Article by AJC on her recent visit.
